Alexander Skarsgard is a thrill seeker.

Alexander Skarsgard isn’t the vain type, and the True Blood star says he’d never turn down a role because it made him look unappealing.

He said: “I’m always looking for something that’s real and that’s got meat on it. I think it’s artistic suicide if you’re too vain, or if you’re afraid to play ugly. I would never fall for that.”

The actor, who called it quits with actress Kate Bosworth recently, struggles to understand why he’s viewed as a sex symbol.

He added to Telegraph.co.uk: “Do I think I’m beautiful? I see myself as most people see themselves, you have good days and bad days. I don’t think I’m better looking now than I did three years ago.”

Alexander, 33, admits he’s a thrill seeker, but he has to be careful about who he dates.

He said: “I know I have to be careful because there is something destructive within me, I think, and I can have a tendency to just search for the kicks. I can’t really get too close to someone who’s too destructive, or too dark, because then I might go down the rabbit hole myself.”

Recently, Alexander Skarsgard sat down with UK Elle magazine to discuss a few things. Like  most of us, Alexander has those days when he feels he’s not at his best. He occasionally feels like the ”ugliest person on the planet” and can’t understand why people find him attractive.

The Swedish star who plays a sexy Viking  vampire Eric Northman in the HBO series True Blood doesn’t understand why people call him a heartthrob.

He said: “I’m insecure, like most people. I have days where I feel like the ugliest person on the planet. It’s not like I walk in a room and go, ‘Yeah, f**k I’m hot!’ Totally not.”

Alexander – who has recently called it quits with ‘Superman Returns’ actress Kate Bosworth – also revealed he didn’t have much luck with the opposite sex when he was younger.

Asked if he received a lot of attention from girls when he was at school, he replied: “Not really. I wasn’t super popular.”

The former child star also revealed that he doesn’t like the Hollywood social scene because it isn’t about having fun.

He said: “I have a tendency to drink like a Viking. In England or Sweden, people go out to enjoy themselves, not to network. The good thing about my drunkenness is I don’t remember it. I’ve woken up in a few weird places when I was young. Like in the woods.”

It’s a site where you can view clips of all of Alexander’s films. Alot of his movies he’s done in Sweden since he’s originally from there and the American audience has not seen them. They are here and rather interesting. I recall seeing him in his small part in Zoolander and you see that young, adorable look Alex had back then.
