Vampire Hottie

In Honor of Alexandra’s Birthday, today’s Vampire Hottie is Alexander Skarsgard who is the muse for Stefan, one of Alexandra’s main characters in her Vampire Destiny series.

We both are fans of Eric Northman, and the actor Alexander Skarsgard. That’s how we meet, online when I asked her to join the AS Fan Blog as a moderator for one of my two Eric Northman Fan pages. Over the past few years, Alexandra has become one of my dearest friends. I remember talking with her every few weeks about her treatments for breast cancer when she was diagnosed in early 2011. She wondered how many friends would get freaked out when she revealed the news online and I made a point to not be one of those people. I’ve lost many people in my family to cancer and walking away from someone just because you don’t know what to say when they are dealing with something that heavy was not going to be my scene.  At that time, we’d talk about the fan blog and related sites, True Blood, everything Alexander of course, and my writing as I began the Vampire from Hell series, normal every day stuff. If she wanted to talk about her progress, we’d talk about that too, but I never pushed it.

It was earlier this year, just this year, that she too embraced her desire to write a book. She released Fated, Book 1 in the Vampire Destiny series on May 24, 2012. I crossed my fingers and prayed it would be well received. I didn’t want my friend to have to face some bad news as she recovered from breast cancer.

To our delight, the book flew up the charts. By July, it hit the Top 10 on one of Amazon’s biggest list, Books > Romances > Vampires and it hasn’t left there or fallen below number 10 yet. I doubt it will because it’s a wonderful read!  Alexandra’s dream of writing a book was realized and she has some great readers who support every aspect of her writing.

As the summer progressed, we both shared progress on our writing ideas and projects when we found time to chat. Alexandra appeared on radio shows, blog hops, blog tours promoting her book and wrote her follow up book, Illusion #2 in the Vampire Destiny series. It was released on August 24, 2012 to immediate 5 star reviews and interest, sitting not very far behind Fated on the Amazon list.

Finally as the holidays approach and 2012 comes to an end, I can’t help but be proud of my friend’s accomplishments. I realized a few days ago when I sent Alexandra a birthday present in the mail that she has written 3 books in one year, this year. It’s her first year of writing, certainly not her last, and she is burning up the keyboard. She has even spoken of another vampire series in the making for next year.

Alexandra is now a survivor of breast cancer with having to have one last reconstruction surgery in a few weeks. This past year has been very different for her from last year of 2011, and I mean different in an extremely good way. As I wait with many, many other fans for her third book, yes I said third, I can’t help but be so proud of Alexandra.  She deserves the success she is having with her books. She’s faced things in her life I can’t possibly begin to imagine and she has emerged on the other side as a supportive, humble, funny, amazingly strong and awesome person.  Not to say that she wasn’t like that before. I didn’t know her before she was diagnosed, but afterwards. And I remember the day she decided to tell her online friends what was going on because she could have kept it a secret and pretended nothing was wrong. She didn’t. She embraced fighting cancer the same way she embraces her writing, with fearlessness, courage, and gutsy determination.

So with having said all that, and I hope she won’t be mad that I gushed on about it, I thank every day that I have a friend like Alexandra.  She’s an amazingly supportive person and a wonderful friend.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, A!!! Here’s to another year of writing and I know it’ll be a great one!

Awakening Book 3 in the Vampire Destiny series will be available on Amazon December 15, 2012. Alexandra will be a featured author on my blog December 16th and I’ll have the link available, so mark your calendars. To read samples of Awakening Book 3, see Alexandra’s website.

For the first three books of Alexandra’s Vampire Destiny series, I had the wonderful opportunity to create her covers. Appreciating Our Fans

Since around 2008, I have been an obsessed fan of Alexander Skarsgard and I don’t have a problem with that or the fact that some people think that is strange. I have met many friends online who share my interest in Alexanders Skarsgard and over the years some of those friends have become really good friends I talk with often online.

That’s why I’m starting a new concept on my AS Fan Blog and Skarsgarding Facebook pages that you guys may want to get in on. It’s called “Fan of the Week.

More information is below, but basically it’s a way to appreciate our fans. Two people are selected each week for a monthly giveaway. You can enter to win or donate items to be given away. A few of my friends and I, being huge Alexander Skarsgard fans, now write vampire fiction and we do use our appreciation for Alex as inspiration for some characters and let it find its way into our books. And I thought this would be a great way to help circulate info about their books as well.

Have a great week everyone! ~ally

Why I love Alexander Skarsgard by Alexandra Anthony

I have to admit it.  I’m an Alexander Skarsgård addict.

To be honest, I know the exact moment I became an addict.  It was seeing him play Brad Colbert in “Generation Kill”.  He was tall, blond and delicious with a sarcastic mouth.

I was in heaven.

When it was announced he would be playing Eric Northman on “True Blood”, I was beside myself.  I’ve been a fan of the fang since I was a teenager and Anne Rice introduced me to the seductive world of vampires.  Lestat de Lioncourt was my first vampire crush.

As I became increasingly disenchanted with other vampire books on the market, I decided to dip my toe in the pool and write an adult version of how I pictured vampires to be.  I stripped away all of the typical vampire myths; their inability to be in the sun, garlic, mirrors, silver.  I decided to make them able to walk among us and not limit them to being creatures of the night.  It adds an element of fear that you don’t normally have since the person sitting next to you on the bus could be a vampire.

When I was creating my vampire, I immediately decided to use a version of Alexander Skarsgård as my model.  I combined several of his “ looks” (Generation Kill, Straw Dogs and several different photo shoots) and gave my character Stefan some of his charm and sense of humor with a liberal dose of sex appeal for good measure.  I can only hope I do him justice as I write my book series.

And that my friends is why I’m proud to be an Alexander Skarsgård addict.

Call me Kelly. I’m a brazilian fan of Alexander Skasgard.

I appreciate your community about him on facebook. I know your fan blog now and like the themes, titles and pictures, of course. Wonderful!!!

I met Alex through the work in True Blood. I admit that at first glance, I thought it was only a handsome man, but then, knowing their job better, I can say that his beauty is equal to his immense talent. Alex was born to shine.

I also could not fail to mention that his personality really surprises me. In some interviews I read, I can see that he is fantastic and so I admire him even more. … fantastic, beautiful and talented. Not to mention the most beautiful smile I have ever seen :)

Ally, if you have contact with him, do not hesitate to say that in Brazil there is anyone who has a fondness for it huge, and always pray that he shine more and more. I do not know how I could be useful to you or to the blog, but in need can count on me. Thank you for giving color to my days with your news and photos about Alex. Hugs to you, to Maribel and the entire team. ;-)

Back in 2008 I started to watch the HBO series True Blood out of curiosity, because I’ve always liked vampires.  So I started to watch it but I didn’t get attracted to the main vampire at that moment, played by an obscure unknown actor called Stephen Moyer.

So more or less I continued watching the series, but in episode 4, a tall blond guy with the looks of a Viking made his debut.  Since the first moment I saw him he intrigued me, more or less the same way an unknown Australian actor called Hugh Jackman impressed me in the X-Men movies.

So I finished season 1 and next year season 2 started, I remember telling other people about the Viking guy, by that time I didn’t even know his name, but I was more curious about him.
Then, the scene with Godric in the roof came.  The Viking guy impressed me with his intensity, how well he transmitted the feelings of the scene.  Vampire Eric was begging his maker not to meet the sun.  Perhaps that was the moment I’ve realized the Viking guy could act.  But still I was infatuated by my other favorite fictional character, Wolverine, played by my only #1 fave actor back then; Hugh Jackman.

By Season 3 I really was hook on the Viking, by a friend, who was mesmerized by his looks, without knowing it, I became obsessed about the actor behind Eric Northman, at that moment I started to google his name:  Alexander Skarsgård, and I started to visit pages dedicated to him.  So that was the moment Wolverine got a rival, a Viking vampire….LOL… the first time I liked another actor the same way I liked Hugh Jackman.

So by the end of 2010 I realized I was obsessed  with Alexander Skarsgård and the character of Eric Northman.  After TB 3rd season I read the books that supposedly inspired the series and guess what, I fell in love even more with the Viking vampire.

So by 2011 I started to visit several facebook pages dedicated to the Viking, among them Skarssgarding, Sisters in Skarsgård and ASFB.  So there I met Ally, Lori, Meg, Bianca, Elena and so many other fabulous fans of the Viking.  Then, Ally offered me to be administrator of both her pages and I accepted.  Soon after, Lori invited me to be a moderator of her Sisters in Skarsgård page and I accepted too.

Currently on Facebook I’m a moderator of the following pages:

I also have my own page dedicated to some of my favorite actors: Sexy beasts from Fangtasia, and of course ASkars is featured on it.

Ok, why I like Alexander Skarsgård so much?

1- He’s a superb actor, the scene with Godric, season 4, showed how well he uses his eyes expressions, how he changes his tone of voice, his body language…. It is amazing how expressive he is.  While Hugh Jackman’s asset is his versatility, Alexander uses his body language and his facial expressions brilliantly…   Despite the disaster of S4, Alex was the only good there.  Even though stupid Anna Paquin was unable to get into the skin of Sookie Stackhouse, the scenes she made with Alex were worth seeing because of him.

2-  His looks, damn it, he’s so sexy, even if he wears a bag of potatoes, he looks gorgeous.

3- He seems to be so genuine, when other actors not as talented as him have big egos, he seems to be nice. All reports say he’s nice to his fans.  He does his thing and he doesn’t mind to repeat clothes…LOL….

4- He hangs with aliens…LOL… he loves to have fun… after all he deserves it!  Go Alex!

5- His overbite, I think that makes him real…

Even though I’m so upset with TB and I have no interest on the series, I will still watch S5 because Alexander Skarsgård is still there.
So who’s my #1 favorite actor at this moment?  Currently it is a tie between the Wolverine and the Viking…. LOL

Season 4: Eric is Dazed and Confused

***SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT***

March 5th, Alexander Skarsgard attended PaleyFest 2011 Presents True Blood at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills, California.

Alex joined in a panel with co-stars Anna Paquin and her husband Stephen Moyer, along with True Blood creator Alan Ball, and other of the cast members of True Blood. The panel included a crowded amount with 17 members in attendance. Alan Ball, Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, Alexander Skarsgård, Carrie Preston, Chris Bauer, Deborah Ann Woll, Jim Parrack, Joe Manganiello, Kevin Alejandro, Kristin Bauer, Marschall Allman, Nelsan Ellis, Rutina Wesley, Ryan Kwanten, Sam Trammell and Todd Lowe.

Rumors are flying around that in Season 4 Alan Ball may return to plot lines within the Charlaine Harris’ Sookie Stackhouse books. Any and every fan of Alexander (Eric Northman) are keeping their fingers crossed.

During the panel, Alex confirmed that Eric will have amnesia. Fans may assume the story line will start up with Dead to the World (Book 4) and possibly have aspects from that book. How close it will lend to the book? We’ll have to wait and see when True Blood, Season 4 starts June 12th.

“Things are definitely not stable for Eric,” Alexander said about his character’s upcoming storyline. “He doesn’t know who he is anymore. He’s very lost.”

To answer an ongoing question many Eric Northman fans have,  Will Sookie and Eric get together this season? Anna Paquin did her best to deflect the question of whether Sookie will act on her attraction to Eric next season, and Alex mouthed, “It happens.” So we shall see just how that plays out! Is it June yet?!

Click here to open a teaser for True Blood’s fourth season, featuring a dazed and confused Eric. See more photos of Alex at SkarsgardNews.com and of the True Blood cast arriving on the red carpet at The Vault.
